About Us

Formed in 2025, the CME Writing Foundation is a new line of business hosted by Harting Communications, LLC in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. The foundation's mission is to provide financial support for networking activities that benefit freelance CME writers and the executives who hire us. 

Currently, these activities occur twice each year: at the annual meeting of the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) and the annual meeting of the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (Alliance). Recent examples include poetry readings, ice-breaker games, prizes, and refreshments. 

In 2026, the foundation's revenue consists of a share of proceeds from sales of CME Writer's Handbook, and donations from supporters. When resources permit, the foundation may file articles of incorporation and hire staff. For now, it operates informally, with time and energy donated by volunteers. Foundation finances are kept separate from those of its parent company by means of a banking subaccount and dedicated accounting ledger.
